Instructional Council Summary Statements

February 18, 2016

The Instructional Council approved the following proposals: Law I, Law II, World Geography and BEACON.

The Instructional Council received an update on District-wide summer offerings.

Middle School will continue to offer credit recovery classes while high school will offer credit recovery as well as acceleration classes. All Middle School and High School classes will be held at Larkin HS.

There are changes in the elementary program. A summer program will be offered to all eligible students, K-6. Eligibility is based on individual school criteria. Programs are coordinated with local libraries who will offer literacy support as well as the facilities.

More information will be available through administrators.

The Instructional Council received an update on the District Technology Plan.

The three year plan presented and approved last year is still the guide for instillation and acquisition of devices for all schools.

The Instructional Council received an update on Secondary English Language Arts implementation.

The Instructional Council received an update from the MTSS Department.

The Instructional Council heard a proposal for Full Day Kindergarten.
