Summary Statements from Instructional Council, November 19, 2015
The Instructional Council received an update on the Eureka Math Implementation. This included information about the November DCD. The schedule for implementation for MS grades 7 and 8 were also presented.
The Instructional Council heard a proposal for Standard Text Resources for Dual Language Ignite, grades 4 and 5. These are resources which will be supplied for any new DL Ignite classes to support the student access to literature in Spanish.
The Instructional Council heard a proposal to rename Heritage Spanish 5-6 to Heritage Spanish 5-6 Honors to mirror Spanish 5-6 Honors. As Dual Language moves into Middle School and Heritage Spanish is increasingly being taken by native Spanish speakers, there is a need to update the course options in high school for an honors course.
The Instructional Council heard a proposal for VPAA and BEACON Resources. As technology changes in the marketplace classes need to have access to these newer resources.
