MTSS Committee November 17, 2014

The committee reviewed and approved October minutes.  These will be posted on the district web site under staff resources.

The committee discussed concerns regarding RtI, PBIS and other behavior interventions currently used in the district, general safety and discipline.  As a group we looked at information from the Special Ed audit conducted this past spring as it related to MTSS.

The committee will continue discussions on these topics.  Several members will work to identify additional concerns and possible next steps.  All members will be gathering information regarding process, procedure, and available materials or practices used in interventions.  We will work to identify appropriate tools to use for interventions.

Communication of consistent, current, and appropriate information is essential.  We will continue to search for the best ways to get information out.

The district’s “Ideal Problem Solving Process” which can be used for both behavior and academic problem solving has been introduced through monthly MTSS coaches meetings and will continue to be explored. It has been determined that workshops should be developed and offered in academic differentiation and interventions. We will work with the Professional Development Committee to provide this.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 26, 2015.
